Professional Development Series:
Strategies and Tools for Creating and Maintaining Effective Boards with David Bury

Monday, October 15, 2007
Philadelphia Center for Arts & Heritage
1608 Walnut Street, 18th Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19103

This seminar equipped arts administrators, artists, board members, and development professionals with an appreciation of how board recruiting, management, and evolution is integral to an organization’s long-term success. Participants left the seminar with a new understanding of how to structure an effective board, how to ensure that the board is an active and supportive part of its organization’s leadership, and how to create a board of engaged, excited, and helpful stakeholders. Much more than just a discussion on the fiduciary and administrative responsibilities of nonprofit boards, the seminar explored people's motivations for joining boards and provides valuable advice on how to obtain the ideal board for your institution.
